Job Description:

You’ll have real responsibility, promoting and protecting Aldi’s political reputation. This includes correspondence with political stakeholders, managing Aldi’s responses to government consultations and political monitoring and horizon scanning. You’ll also be responsible for managing an awards and endorsements programme designed to help communicate Aldi’s product and brand credentials, as well as managing Aldi’s overall PR budget, so it’s vital you have high attention to detail. Crucially, you’ll manage a small in-house team and a supporting PR agency.

Job Responsiblities:

  • Manage a sizeable awards and endorsements programme.
  • Work with marketing agencies to ensure a steady and consistent point of contact for Aldi.
  • Manage and liaise with PR agencies.
  • Manage and control the communications budget.
  • Manage Aldi’s public affairs programme, including correspondence, stakeholder meetings and consultations as well as monitoring and horizon scanning.
  • Ownership of relationships with trade associations.
  • Line management for two Communication Assistants to ensure timely delivery and accuracy in materials.
  • Plan and recommend communications materials in areas of responsibility.

Job Requirements:

  • Budget management.
  • Copy writing and checking skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of politics.
  • Educated to 2:1 Degree level.
  • Previous professional experience in public affairs.
  • PR experience.
  • Experience managing a team.
