Job Description:

DMV’s Information Systems Division (ISD) is seeking a talented and dynamic manager to lead and oversee the Departments’ Motor Voter (MV) Product Group. Under the general direction of the Section Manager, Information Technology Manager (ITM) II, the ITM I will lead a multi-disciplinary team, including but not limited to application architects, developers, business analysts and quality assurance, to maintain and enhance the applications and services in support of the MV Program; plans, coordinates and directs the activities of IT staff including vendor staff; performs duties related to Business Technology Management and IT Project Management; serves as a Technical Manager on technology projects and supports inter/intra-departmental projects that interface with the department’s core business applications; and is responsible for workforce and succession planning, IT budgeting, procurement and contract management, and service performance management.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or relevant fields;demonstrated experience in project management; applied knowledge of principles and practices related to the design, implementation and operation of information technology (IT) systems and services; experience in managing all activities associated with implementation and operations of emerging technology solution; experience developing reports and metrics to drive results; experience implementing applications and services in the cloud; experience working with and reporting to executive leadership; excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives; proven experience developing and implementing initiatives, standards, policies and best practices for the creation, maintenance and effective application of high-quality, web and digital platform technology; strong understanding of human resource management principles, practices, and procedures; able to align technology proposals with business needs, establish priorities and implementation timelines; able to develop and evaluate alternatives, collect and analyze information, and evaluate results to choose the best solution; able to effectively develop and use resources; able to consult with and advise executive leadership and other interested parties on a variety of subject-matter areas; able to collaborate and positively influence others to achieve results that are in the best interests of the department; strong written and verbal communication skills; membership and/or certifications in relevant professional organizations; and familiarity with ITIL.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience managing and leading technology teams; experience managing and leading project teams to implement information technology systems using the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC);
