Job Description:
The Counselor works under minimal supervision and is responsible for providing individual, family, and group counseling. The incumbent may direct clinical services and therapy to program participants with a mental, emotional, and/or behavioral health disorder. The incumbent is also responsible for conducting assessments and screenings to include completion of bio-psychosocial history/evaluation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Participates in departmental meetings and planning and development sessions as required;
- Participates in quality improvement processes;
- Identifies and targets professional development goals using a strength-based perspective to advance skills and knowledge;
- Develops and fosters effective working relationships with community partners;
- Monitors quality and efficacy of services in gaining progress toward stated goals;
- Maintains effective and timely communication with team members to facilitate service implementation;
- Assesses cultural and language needs to ensure cultural sensitivity;
- Performs all client record documentation in a quality and timely manner;
- Works as an integral member of team in other program projects as needed;
Job Requirements:
- Must be available to work non-traditional hours and be on call as necessary for crisis situations;
- May require out of town travel for professional conferences and meetings;
- Maintains a safe and healthy work place environment;
- Performs such other related duties as may be assigned;
Qualification & Experience:
- Home counseling or off-site counseling;
