Job Description:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate analytical and organizational skills and have extensive experience processing invoices for payment, maintaining accounting records, reconciling balances, resolving problems, and working in financial databases. This position starts at a salary of $72,750 (GS-11). Apply for this exciting opportunity to become a member of the Mount Weather Emergency Operations Center (MWEOC) team within FEMA.
Job Responsibilities:
- Developing and managing the Branch’s financial management program, including budget development and execution, purchase orders, contract and interagency agreement administration, cash/check and credit card deposit processing, reimbursable collections, voucher examination, invoice payment scheduling, and the posting of expenditures including Intragovernmental Payment and Collections (IPAC), purchase card, and fleet card.
- Planning, organizing, coordinating and monitoring financial management activities for the Finance Branch, ensuring that policies, directives and goals of the MWEOC are stablished completed within timeframes and conformity with Federal financial regulations.
- Developing and assisting with the implementation of management systems and procedures for financial tracking to include financial reporting, budget monitoring, fiscal and project status reporting, performance analyses, administrative controls, work simplification, and establishment of goals and progress reports.
- Serving as the primary POC for correct and proper payment of all MWEOC obligations using the Agency’s automated financial management system while ensuring compliance with FEMA and HQ mandates; processing all procurement and non-procurement documentation including contracts, purchase orders, travel authorizations, interagency agreements, credit cards and other obligation documents.
- Conducting cost-benefit analyses and studies to determine the most efficient methods of implementing programs while participating in organizational studies to improve financial capabilities.
