Job Responsibilities:

We’re the Data Transfer and Management Services Lab building and managing the future centralised digital nervous system, using the power of our existing batch technologies centred on IBM’s Infosphere DataStage stack, alongside our emerging cloud strategy and streaming analytics capability to get closer to our customers. All this is underpinned by excellent Data Management delivery through the latest industry tooling and strong governance practises. As ‘Total 360 Engineer’, you’ll make a real difference, and you’ll blend both deep domain and technical expertise across several component and feature teams. You’ll be innovating the epicentre of the digital revolution in Enterprise Data as we begin our journey to the cloud and enabling earlier value release for our customers. Driving down the total cost of ownership of our products and driving agile adoption as part of the broader engineering community.

Job Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of SQL/NoSQL Databases
  • Knowledge of event-driven architectures, batch/streaming data pipelines
  • Strong skills and experience in Cloud Data Warehousing technologies eg. BigQuery
  • Design and development of ETL/ELT pipelines using either Hadoop Technologies (Spark) or Apache Beam
  • Working knowledge of data processing, data wrangling, and data analysis techniques
  • Programming knowledge either in Java or Python
  • Experience of working with continuous integration, and continuous delivery technologies
  • Extensive knowledge of SQL
  • Data Modelling, Data Governance, and Data Security
  • Designing and building complex scalable data engineering solutions on any Cloud service
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code
  • A background of working with cloud services; AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform. Ideally GCP
  • Strong Working knowledge of Containerised Deployments in Docker, Kubernetes, Helm and Istio
