Job Description

Qatar Petroleum (QP) is a state-owned public corporation established by Emiri Decree No. 10 in 1974. It is responsible for all phases of the oil and gas industry in the State of Qatar. The principal activities of QP, its subsidiaries and joint ventures are the exploration, production, local and international sale of crude oil, natural gas and gas liquids, refined products, synthetic fuels, petrochemicals, fuel additives, fertilizers, liquefied natural gas (LNG), steel and aluminium. QP’s strategy of conducting hydrocarbon exploration and development is through Exploration and Production Sharing Agreements (EPSA) and Development and Production Sharing Agreements (DPSA) concluded with major international oil and gas companies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Market Intelligence design Market Intelligence Tools and Database and provide analysis and insights on global Exploration and Production industry in relation to QP’s Portfolio. Prepare analytical Market Intelligence reports for Upstream, LNG, and Downstream businesses. Perform industry benchmarks, and lead the operational / financial standard performance indicators for the directorate.
  • Scenario and Sensitivity Analyses Perform multiple scenario and sensitivity analyses taking into account the macroeconomic volatility, asset planning underlying conditions and other key performance drivers.
  • Asset Portfolio Management Develop portfolio assessment and management tools and key performance indicators enabling asset risk / performance ranking and facilitating investment decision making process.
  • Business Development, M&A, Divestment and Optimization Initiatives Provide support and assistance to other relevant departments in implementing investment, divestment or other asset portfolio optimization action aiming at enhancing QP’s asset portfolio.

Job Requirements

  • This must include a minimum 10 years with emphasis on Economic Modelling, Portfolio Assessment, Merger & Acquisition activities, as well as Corporate and Business Strategy.
  • Ability to prepare, analyze and present complex information in an effective and timely manner;
  • Interest and ability to acquire knowledge of the industry dynamics and the regulatory, fiscal, and licensing regimes.
  • Energy and ability to work within and across teams, to facilitate effective decision‐making.
  • Evidence of strong work ethic and awareness of discretion and need to observe confidentiality in all matters.
  • Excellent problem solving, financial and economic modelling skills as well as ability to work in multi-cultural environment.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills in English are required. Arabic is a plus.
  • Minimum 20 years work experience in various disciplines in the Oil & Gas industry. Consideration for Business Consultancy experience or Investment Banking and Asset Management experience with multi-disciplinary expertise ranging from technical to business and economics.
