To ensure we do so Siemens Mobility are looking for an individual with a proven track record for developing high-impact business strategies and managing delivery of complex programmes and projects within strict deadlines and budget constraints.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Reporting directly to the Director of Strategy & Business Development for our Rail Infrastructure business the Strategic Programmes Manager (SPM) will manage the implementation of key strategic initiatives such as Benefits Management, Whole Life Value and many others. They will work with senior leaders, integrate across functions and bring new insight and drive improvements in the way we operate as a business. The SPM will establish and lead programme to completions for any active initiatives. Due to their criticality focus will initially be placed on Benefits Realisation and Whole Life Value.
  • Programme creation and management, including identifying any blockers such as resource availability
  • Managing and supporting any programme specific leads such as the Benefits Realisation Manager
  • Ensure the required supporting documents to support the deliverables such as process, roles and responsibilities and user guides are created
  • Running any Workshops or Sprints required to progress the programme
  • Ensuring the required outputs are achieved on time for an interfacing programmes or tenders

Job Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex matters to aid the understanding of all and issuing internal business wide communications (essential)
  • Ability to develop constructive working relationships that facilitate dialogue and build mutual understanding (essential)
  • APM preferable
  • Ambitious, entrepreneurial, pragmatic, commercial mindset, agile in the face of ambiguity (essential)
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a business or technically related discipline
  • Strong quantitative analytical skills (essential)
  • Able to lead cross-functional teams without direct line management (essential)
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, prioritise work, manage time and respond effectively to a rapidly changing environment (essential)

Qualification & Experience:

  • Previous experience in Rail or Signalling
  • Experienced in Agile techniques such as SCRUM and Kanban
  • Experience in an Engineering based business
