Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive design, development and commissioning ramp of complex and custom high speed automated manufacturing equipment
  • Create new designs and design concepts for assembly and inspection related stations using Solidworks
  • Conceptualizes and determines prototype, pilot line and production equipment design and specifications.
  • Leads/performs design process for automated assembly/manufacturing equipment
  • Provides project estimates as to delivery and resource time.
  • Tests and validates new designs and equipment.
  • Design equipment and measurement fixtures to add functionality and improve productivity
  • Work collaboratively as the on-site equipment design expert to support and improve the operation and ensure production lines run in a safe, efficient manner producing high quality parts.
  • Support Manufacturing Engineering owner / subject matter in their effort to drive equipment-related process improvement including detailed troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Build training material, maintenance routines, and related documentation for equipment life cycle management

Job Requirements:

  • 3D CAD design experience in automation and production equipment/fixtures design, creating/validating layouts, tooling drawings, pneumatic and electrical schematics
  • Expert level ME fundamentals and principles of manufacturing knowledge
  • Detailed knowledge of machine design principles and fabrication processes

Qualification & Experience:

  • Either a BS with 8+ years’ relevant experience or an MS with 3+ years relevant experience in interdisciplinary/integrated engineering, manufacturing engineering, or equivalent
