Job Description:

The IROP Coordinator (IC), reporting to the Duty Managers, is responsible to minimize the impact of flight delays and cancellations on our people and Guests by providing safe and cost-focused guest recovery solutions. The IROP Coordinator team is responsible to formulate IROP contingency plans in conjunction with Airport Operations Coordinator, Daily Duty Coordinator, Operations Leads and Duty Manager. Each IROP Coordinator shall strive towards creating connections that make a positive difference. Listening actively and communicating openly will create a remarkable experience in all interactions for fellow WestJetters, WestJet partners and ultimately, our guests.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor all arrival and departures of their airport to identify any local guest connection issues up or down line, including code-share and interline guests
  • Act as the conduit for communication for all irregular operations (IROP)
  • Coordinate all local communications regarding guest movement (guests and baggage) requirements resulting from IROP guest recovery plans
  • Communicate and coordinate commercial decision requests with DDC (i.e. gating)
  • Consult with Guest Solutions (GSOL) to assist in formulating preliminary IROP guest recovery plans
  • Assist GSOL in the re-accommodation of code-share and interline guests in accordance with IATA Resolution 735d
  • Coordinate local hotel accommodations and or ground transportation as requested by GSOL
  • Proactively assist in the formulation and execution of IROP guest recovery plans
  • Mitigate operational challenges during major IROPs through open communication with local leadership to determine the best re-allocation of manpower
  • Act as the technical expert regarding specific partner airline agreements, including (but not limited to) ticketing, baggage, flight schedules, and special guest handling
  • Actively assist the airports frontline in the operation with escalated technical assistance, guidance, and support
  • Coordinate & communicate with Ground Handler regarding baggage movement

Job Requirements:

  • Exceptional technical knowledge of airline guest promises and guidelines, airport procedures for Check-in, IROPs and Gates and re-accommodation procedures
  • Excellent personal OTP and performance
  • Exceptional technical knowledge and understanding of SabreSonic procedures
  • Working knowledge of FliteTrac (Movement Control) an asset
  • Proven track record of meeting behavioral expectations, able to provide excellent internal and external guest experience
  • Ability to work shift work with a rotating schedule 24/7/365
  • Proficient in PC based applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong understanding of processes surrounding interline and codeshare relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent ability to multitask and handle changing priorities under extreme pressure, able to delegate tasks effectively

Qualification & Experience:

  • 2+ years operational experience preferred; with a demonstrated ability in organization (frontline leadership experience is an asset)
  • Prior experience with SabreSonic Interact required
