Job Responsibilities:

  • You will lead the design team at TSB, in charge of creating delighting customer experience through all digital channels and working together with the Products and Marketing team to bring solutions to customer needs, challenging what traditional banks do, and continuing to change the way that TSB does customer journey design bringing all elements of design thinking and customer inclusion
  • You’ll work alongside strategists, product managers and developers to challenge the way banks have always been and bring innovation with a human centred process to ultimately have a positive impact into the life of our customers.

  • You will be defining the mobile and web experience for our customers, going well beyond traditional banking products, through collaborative experience design practices
  • You will lead a team of high talented designers by developing their skills, giving them autonomy, and protecting the purpose of having a positive impact in customers lives.
  • You will lead design iteratively through robust customer research, wireframes and interactive prototypes, beta and production.
  • You will communicate your design ideas in the form of sketches, flows, wireframes or mock-ups as needed
  • You will play a key role in creating & empowering an agile organisation, developing the internal design capability and attracting top talent from across the market to build the best business banking offering in the UK.
  • You will work with Risk to direct an effective and efficient system of risk management and internal controls to identify, assess, monitor, control and mitigate financial risks across all relevant activities, in line with risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
  • You will lead also external agencies or consultants, allowing the internal design team to lead the vision while thinking of the resources as one team, this way ensuring the success of projects where we bring external support.
  • You will work together with the Digital Exec team to develop and implement the 2020 strategy and set standards aligned with the strategic direction of the bank and overall product strategy.
  • You will have the customer experience in mind with everything, and with a clear view of the needs / jobs to be done of different customer segments and personas

Job Requirements:

  • You have Design Director / Lead experience leading teams in a recognized organisation, delivering projects with complex interactivity, information models and creating a top-class customer experience.
  • You are a strategic design thinker with extensive experience leading concept development to delivery. Able to work systematically with complex business processes and align them with strategic direction.
  • You have strong experience with customer research and testing as part of the design process. Expert at creating understanding and empathy in design work.
  • A multidisciplinary team that bring ideas rapidly to user validation.
  • An agile development team that brings your designs into implementation.
  • A continuous learning environment, where you are helping an organisation define what banking means for the years to come.

Qualification & Experience:

  • You have an exceptional portfolio of products that demonstrate your process and mastery in customer centered design
  • You are proficient using Sketch, Invision, Marvel, Proto.io, Protopie, or other similar tools to create digital prototypes.
  • You have experience working in an Agile software development environment
